Battle Scenes from Lamoni

The fields around Lamoni are typically planted with corn and the corn grows really TALL in these fertile fields.   But, one field near town is set aside for Civil War Days.  These photos come from that field – – battle scenes from Lamoni.  The photo above shows the Confederate artillery line making some serious noise.

(Above)  Some Confederates took up a position in a trench in the center of the field.  In the distance,

a Federal line with flags flying approaches the Confederates in the trench.

(Above)  Confederate soldiers quickly move into the smoke… to the middle of the battle.
